After a strong showing yesterday, Rodriguez faced his toughest challenge yet in Cyborg. The Danaher Death Squad member used his superior wrestling pedigree to bully his way past his first two opponents, taking two decision victories contested mostly on the feet. Cyborg also nabbed a pair of decisions but was much more varied in his approach. This wasn’t the only classic match at +99kg as Kaynan Duarte met Buchecha on the other side of the bracket at ADCC 2019.

As Kaynan was paving his way to glory against two-time ADCC World Champion, Buchecha, Nicky Rod was not far behind him at all. Both matches ended in a decision and both were 0-0 on points after fifteen minutes of back-and-forth action. This sets up a final guaranteed to make history as Kaynan chases down his second world championship this year and Nicky Rod is after the perfect debut at ADCC 2019 he is yet to surrender a point.
