ADCC 2019 Results: Ryan Submits Trator For Gold

Gordon Ryan has done it again. He’s become a two-time champion at ADCC 2019 and had a near-flawless run to the title. After a difficult battle with Vinicius “Trator” Ferreira to begin with, Ryan managed to sink in a stunning Rear-Naked Choke as the clock was ticking closer to overtime. That marked Ryan’s third submission victory of the tournament after finishing Tim Spriggs and Ben Hodgkinson.

Trator proved a fantastic opponent as they traded submission attempts but it was a slick backtake from Ryan that made the difference. He was quick to sink in the choke once he’d established control of the back, something he attempted in his semi-final performance against Hulk. Ryan had a tough time until the last few minutes before taking Hulk’s back and getting the points to win.

Ryan showed that his previous knee injury hasn’t slowed him down at all by taking home the gold. No doubt we’ll see him again today at ADCC 2019 when the Absolute starts and the real fun begins.
