BJJ Stars Sets Up Kaynan Duarte v Nicholas Meregali

BJJ Stars appears to be working hard on setting up an incredible event for April 25th, adding Kaynan Duarte v Nicholas Meregali to the card. This comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Ffion Davies v Bianca Basilio is due to be another big name match on the same night. This latest announcement is another epic rematch between two of the sport’s best competitors as Kaynan Duarte v Nicholas Meregali will be the fourth time that this pair have met at black belt.

Currently, Duarte is ahead 2-1 in the series between these two athletes. He won the first meeting in 2018 at World Series of Grappling 2 by Referee Decision before Meregali was able to level the score at Brasileiro in 2019, winning via submission. The most recent meeting between them happened in the final of The Spyder Invitational where Duarte again took a Referee Decision and walked away with the grand prize. The next meeting was announced on the BJJ Stars Instagram:

Now, one of the biggest stories coming into this rematch is the recent failed drug test by Kaynan Duarte as the test was administered not long before his third meeting with Meregali. Will Meregali be able to level the series to 2-2 now? We’ll have to wait to find out on April 25th.
