BREAKING: Keenan Cornelius Drops Out of ADCC, James Puopolo to Replace

(This article is part of our week of ADCC coverage. To get live results, play by play, and commentary, we’ll have a live updates article running all weekend)

The rumor about Keenan’s eye infection being serious appeared to be confirmed this evening, as both Mo Jassim (ADCC organizer) and FloGrappling have cofirmed that Keenan is withdrawing from ADCC mere days before the event.

Earlier this week, Keenan posted a cryptic Instagram post where he implied that he had an eye infection. Grappling Insider reached out to him, but did not receive a reply.

Replacing Keenan will be James Puopolo, a Rafael Lovato Jr black belt. James won the ADCC Trials in 2011, and is a veteran IBJJF competitor. He was the Nogi Worlds Champion in 2013 and took bronze at the 2015 IBJJF Nogi Worlds.

This is a breaking story and we will be updating it as we get more information.
