Combat Jiu Jitsu Worlds: Featherweights Results

Eddie Bravo’s baby, The Combat Jiu Jitsu World Championships are back with a bang as they started off with the first weightclass of 2020, the Featherweights! The event was action-packed from start to finish and delivered an astounding number of finishes for an elite level Jiu Jitsu tournament. The individual superfights didn’t disappoint with all of them resulting in finishes in less than half of the regulated time.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of all though was the winner of the World Championships as Tom Halpin ran through an entire field of the best competitors on the planet with relative ease. In just a little over 8 minutes, he had tapped out four elite grapplers including two legends of MMA, Masakazu Imanari and Hideo Tokoro. The highlight had to be his match with Imanari however. The Irish grappler knew exactly what Imanari was going to do (his famous roll) and he countered it better than anyone ever has in Imanari’s decades of experience:
