The double leg takedown of Trump’s former campaign manager.

On Sunday September 27th, the Fort Lauderdale police made an arrest of former Trump campaign manager and current digital adviser for the campaign, Brad Parscale. The police officer who made the initial contact did so with a flawless wrestling ‘double leg.’ And of course, we broke it down for you here.

The initial call came from a real estate agent next door. Parscale’s wife came to her saying that her husband may have shot himself. The police arrived and contacted Parscale on the phone but were initially unable to talk him into coming outside. He stayed inside for hours and had weapons. Eventually, they persuaded him to come out unarmed where they made the arrest.

The Fort Lauderdale police department released a video today of the incident. It shows Pascale walking down his driveway with a can of beer. He begins telling an officer what happened when another police officer initiates the takedown.

In the video, the police officer changes levels and lifts Parscale up in the air and brings him to the ground. When they land, the police officer keeps his distance to maintain his dominant position. He then quickly switches to a knee-on-belly and controls the hands of Pascale. Then, other officers step in and make the arrest without anyone harmed.

There has been a great deal of talk in the grappling community about police training in Jiu Jitsu. People feel there needs to be more of it. No doubt, some do train. But I believe if there were more cops on the mats, the videos that circulate would be like these and less like those that end in lethal force.
