Grapplefest 9 Full Card Announced

Grapplefest has announced the full card for the first UK-based grappling event since Coronavirus necessitated the cancellation of all professional sports events, Grapplefest 9. The news comes shortly after the promotion announced the first fight, a somewhat surprising matchup between Ffion Davies, the lightest IBJJF European Open Absolute Champion of all time and Tayane Porfirio, a fellow ADCC medallist who normally dominates the heaviest weight class available for women.

The other matches announced for Grapplefest 9 are also heavily reliant on talent based around the UK and they look set to produce just as much excitement. The scheduled main event sees Daniel Strauss, a fan-favorite thanks to his easygoing nature and exciting matches for Quintet and Polaris, take on Jackson Souza, who still performs well at the highest levels of competition after a 7 year-long stint competing at black belt so far. The third big-name match on the card sees Polaris Bantamweight and Lightweight World Champion, Ashley Williams take on Kev Corkhill in a match that he sits as a heavy favourite for.
