Garry Tonon has won his latest match, bringing his record to 5-0 in MMA. After taking just 55 seconds to secure a heel hook victory, Tonon had an announcement for the MMA world.

“I just got one thing to say, Garry Tonon is no longer a prospect in the sport of mixed martial arts. This is a resurrection. We’re bringing grappling back from the dead into the forefront of mixed martial arts.”

Tonon is here to stay, and he wants everyone to know it.

Tonon’s victory came over Yoshiki Nakahara at ONE Championship: Enter the Dragon in Singapore. This was Tonon’s first match at featherweight, and it could not have gone more perfectly. Nakahara walked into the match 8-0 and fell to a quick single leg and roll to heel hook, walking out with his first professional MMA loss.

Martin Nguyen is the current featherweight champion, and Tonon has eyes on Nguyen’s belt.
