Gordon Ryan Goes 5 For 5 At Grappling Industries

Gordon Ryan has made an appearance in a Grappling Industries tournament and predictably, gone undefeated. The news should prove exciting for those that might have been more than a little skeptical when Grappling Industries announced their first ever World Championships for later this year. The promotion is relatively new in the game compared to long standing brands like the IBJJF and ADCC but they’ve quickly become a fan favorite for the round-robin style tournaments that give entrants 5 matches in a full bracket. Gordon Ryan announced his run through the Grappling Industries No Gi Expert Division on facebook and had the following to say:

“Competed today in the @grapplingindustries no gi expert absolute and had 5 matches. Amazing to see all the fans around and had fun competing with great guys as well. I will use these matches to show you the concepts we talk about in the instructionals being used out on the competition mats and will eventually do a full commentary with @bjj.fanatics. for now edits coming soon. Ill be around the event later today if you missed me earlier and will be teaching a seminar tomorrow that you can still sign up to ❤ Special thanks to Michael Zenga for sending a film crew and for @freesonnyy for being by my side getting whatever i needed as usual ????.”

This news caps off a busy week for Ryan as he started off by going 1-1 against NCAA All-American and USA Team Wrestler Pat Downey in a series of matches where the pair fought under their respective rulesets for BJJ Fanatics. Only a few days later he was then promoted to 1st Degree black belt by John Danaher and now, he runs through a full division of competitors like it’s nothing. At least he’s staying busy since the news of Third Coast Grappling 4 cancelling his upcoming rematch with Patrick Gaudio.
