Gordon Ryan signs on for IBJJF GP

The IBJJF heavyweight GP just got a little more intriguing.

Fresh from the announcement that Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida will be competing at the event, the second competitor has been released by the IBJJF and it is no other than reigning ADCC champion, Gordon Ryan.

With Ryan’s addition to the tournament, the IBJJF are showing that they can still attract the biggest names in the sport. Ryan’s participation might be influenced by the potential $40,000 on the line. With both Buchecha and Ryan in the now signed on, it will be interesting who else jumps into the fray.

Ryan is fresh off his Nogi World Championship double-gold and will be the consensus favourite. Buchecha, a Nogi World and ADCC champ in his own right, will be keen to show Ryan that he is still at the highest level in nogi.
