JitzKing Miami 2020 Preview
Jitzking Miami is happening on January 24th and is flying under the radar thanks to the upcoming IBJJF European Championships taking place on the same weekend. Regardless, the event is bringing a stacked card to Miami featuring some phenomenal grapplers and plenty of young fighters to keep an eye on for the future.
The main event sees Richie Martinez take on the three-time ADCC US Trials winner, Enrico Cocco, in what is guaranteed to be an exciting match at 185 lbs. Another US Trials winner, John Combs also features on the card against Combat Jiu-Jitsu Welterweight champion Kody Steele. MMA fighters are also out in force on the card with Gillian Robertson, Jessica Aguilar and Jim Alers all slated to compete.
Alongside the superfights, there’s also a 16-man invitational tournament with some of the best young Featherweight grapplers around right now. The favorite to take home the $5,000 prize here seems to be Ethan Crelinsten, the DDS member being one of the most experienced competitors in the field. There’s also the fact that the most vicious man in professional grappling, Vagner Rocha, will be in attendance cornering both of his children. His daughter Jasmine has a superfight against Dominika Malecka and his son Achilles will attempt to win the 4-man Teen -160lbs tournament.
