Mica Galvao to face Dante Leon at Who’s Number One

Fresh off an incredible performance at the ADCC South American Trials, Mica Galvao is set to face no-gi world champion Dante Leon at Who’s Number One (WNO). The event is headlined by a 135-pound title match between Mikey Musumeci and Geo Martinez, and takes place on Friday, March 25.

FloGrappling announced the match-up on Instagram.

Still just 19-years old, Galvao has already firmly established himself as an elite competitor. He burst onto the North American scene in 2021, earning WNO wins over the likes of William Tackett, Oliver Taza, and Jacob Couch. Galvao also earned a submission win over current WNO light-heavyweight champion Pedro Marinho.

Galvao comes into this match following a gold medal performance at the ADCC South American Trials where he submitted each of his opponents.

A 2019 IBJJF no-gi world champion, Leon is a Pedigo Submission Fighting representative and an ADCC veteran. He has struggled to win consistently at WNO, albeit against top competitors like Roberto Jimenez and current two-weight champion Tye Ruotolo. Leon will come into this match following a strong win over ADCC Trials winner Oliver Taza.
