Neiman Gracie to fight for Bellator belt

Neiman Gracie, currently 9-0 and fighting out of Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, is set to fight for the Bellator Welterweight belt at his next match.

With eight of his nine wins coming via submission, it is clear what his game will be against the winner of Rory McDonald (current champ) v. Jon Fitch. In keeping with the popular Grand Prix tournament, McDonald put his belt on the line in the semifinals. Neiman will challenge the new or still champion on June 14th.

Gracie will fight to further uphold his family’s name and place in mixed martial arts. He follows Kron Gracie’s UFC debut a few months ago, during which he made gatekeeper Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres look like a BJJ white belt.

Neiman spoke at the New York press conference for Bellator 222, stating that although this could be a huge fight for his career, it’s also just another fight.
