New team grappling event to air on UFC Fight Pass

UFC Fight Pass just announced a new team grappling event set to air on 16th August 2016.

Kinektic Submission Grappling was co-founded by UFC star Uriah Faber and will feature a commentary debut from Paige VanZant.

We want to bring technique, fierce competitiveness and star power of the worlds best grapplers to the masses

According to the press release (below) teams will be captained by Chael Sonnen, Anthony Smith, Chris Lytle, & Craig Jones will be pitted against each other to be crowned Champions.

This may also answer questions which rose from the Matburn podcast, where Keenan Cornelius hinted at teaming up with Craig Jones for a team event. As of now it’s unclear who else will feature on each team, but we’re certain (and excited it will be big names). We’ll update you as/when those announcements are made.
