Nicky Ryan vs. Urijah Faber title fight set for Polaris 10

Polaris just keep managing to pull great match-ups out of the bag.

I must admit, I was excited to see a potential fight between Ryan and Ashley Williams, but the announcement of Faber vs. Ryan is certainly something I can get behind.

Ryan is one of the greatest grapplers in the world and at the age of 17, he is only going to get better. Urijah Faber is one of the most decorated lighter weight fighters of all-time and famously became a world champion in the WEC.

Faber’s grappling credentials are strong, he was a high-level wrestler and has made a career out of his patented guillotine. The California Kid will also hold a massive strength advantage over the Ryan, who is 22 years his junior.

Nicky Ryan is perhaps the purest representation of John Danaher’s systems in play. Ryan has trained almost exclusively at the Renzo Gracie Academy and is well versed in leglocks, but also has a particularly effective triangle game.

Polaris 10 goes down on May 25th in Poole , Dorset.
