Ryan Hall’s Win Streak Continues in Impressive Fashion
Ryan Hall has been carrying the hopes of the BJJ community in his MMA career and once again he has done us proud.
Ryan made his name as a grappler and famously medalled at ADCC. While Hall was a pioneer in both gi and nogi grappling, he elected to focus on MMA and he’s made an impressive start to his career. After a winning effort on the Ultimate Fighter Finale against Artem Lobov, Hall upset Gray Maynard and scored a slick heel hook against BJ Penn.
On Saturday night, Hall had his toughest test to date in Darren Elkins and he passed it with flying colours. Elkins, who holds wins over Michael Johnson and Mirsad Bektic was expected to have the edge on the feet, but Hall landed an array of slick kicks and mixed in some imanari roll attempts.
Hall surprised many by out striking Elkins throughout and looked confident on the feet scoring knockdowns and managing distance masterfully. While Hall didn’t get to assert his dominance on the ground, he looked great throughout and showed he has what it takes to fight at the highest levels.
