Video: Andre Muniz Breaks ‘Jacare’ Souza’s Arm at UFC 262

Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza suffered his fourth consecutive loss at the hands of Andre Muniz on Saturday night at UFC 252. A fellow grappler, Muniz found his way to Jacare’s back with just over a minute remaining in the first round. As Muniz fell off Souza’s back he took an arm with him, snapping Jacare’s arm visibly.

This was Jacare’s fourth consecutive loss and the first submission loss of his career. He is a former Strikeforce champion and long considered one of the best middleweights of his generation. Prior to MMA, Jacare was one of the best jiu-jitsu competitors of his time; he was a multiple-time IBJJF world champion and holds wins over Roger Gracie and Marcelo Garcia.

With the win, Andre Muniz extends his win streak to seven and he remains undefeated in the UFC. This was his second straight armbar finish and his 14th total submission win.
