Video: Gordon Ryan Slaps Andre Galvao Backstage at WNO

The internet beef is more than just keyboard talk. After his match at Who’s Number One last night, Gordon Ryan slapped long-time nemesis, Andre Galvao. Video of the altercation soon surfaced.

It appears that the altercation happened just moments after Ryan defeated Roberto Jimenez in the evening’s co-main event as Ryan was making his way backstage to give an interview. It’s unclear what Galvao had said or done moments before that.

With this in-person confrontation now on camera, it’s hard to deny that Gordon Ryan vs. Andre Galvao is the most anticipated jiu-jitsu match to be made right now, if not ever. The pair have been beefing for years. Galvao is the reigning ADCC superfight champion and Ryan was the 2019 ADCC absolute champion, so a superfight between the two would make sense at the 2022 ADCC championships.

Will it happen? It’s still not clear, but this is certainly a gallon of gasoline on the fire.
