Video: Yajaira Cunningham Puts Opponent to Sleep With Brutal Von Flue Choke at Combate Global

On Friday, strawweight fighter Yajaira “Pantera Negra” Cunningham picked up one of the most brutal submission finishes of the year when she put Iveth del Carmen to sleep in the main event at Combate Global. What makes the submission so brutal is not only the way del Carmen stares directly into the camera while unconscious, but also that she was put to sleep by a Von Flue choke — one of the rarest submissions in MMA.

The finish came with less than thirty seconds remaining in the second round. With del Carmen’s arm trapped, Cunningham was able to apply the Von Flue while also using the cage to pin Del Carmen and prevent her from escaping to her side.

Yajaira Cunningham is now 3-2 as a professional. This was her second submission win. Iveth del Carmen drops to 1-1.
