Watch UFC on ESPN+ 16’s Antonio Carlos Junior tap Garry Tonon

Antonio Carlos Junior will be fighting Uriah Hall in tonight’s UFC Fight Night in Vancouver. “Cara de Sapato” is currently ranked 13th in the 185 pound Middleweight division.

The American Top Team fighter is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, and as evidenced in this match against Gary Tonon, his jiu jitsu is top-notch. After coming up through Checkmat and making a name for himself on the international BJJ scene, Carlos Junior made the switch to MMA in 2013. He earned a spot on The Ultimate Fighter in the Brazilian Heavyweight season and reached the final of the event.

In this 2017 match, Carlos Junior hits a slick flying triangle on Gary Tonon.

(GI’s Roy Billington conducted an in-depth interview with Gary Tonon a few months back.)

A win tonight could potentially propel Carlos into the top ten. The fight will air on ESPN+ tonight with the main card starting at 8:00 EST.
