WNO 29: Rocha vs. Dale full card lineup and preview
Here is everything you need to know about WNO 29: Vagner Rocha vs. Kit Dale, which takes place on July 25, 2025, in Miami.
FloGrappling’s Who’s Number One (WNO) will return to action this Friday with a card featuring a mixture of longtime veterans, current pound-for-pound stars, and talented young athletes looking to make a statement at the elite level.
Vagner Rocha vs. Kit Dale
In the main event of WNO 29, Australian fan-favorite Kit Dale looks to continue his career resurgence when he takes on one of the sport’s longest tenured competitors in Vagner Rocha.
A 2017 ADCC veteran, Dale returned from a four-year stint on the sidelines earlier this year when he competed at the Australian CJI Trials (“Giles Trials”), turning in a solid showing while proving he could still hang with top-level grapplers. In June, at WNO 28, Dale employed his solid takedown game and trademark guard passing to secure a decision victory over the legendary Xande Ribeiro.
For his part, Rocha boasts an incredibly lengthy resume. He made his first ADCC appearance back in 2011 and has since made it to the ADCC podium four times. At the 2024 ADCC World Championships, Rocha erased any doubt that he still belongs at the elite level when he scored victories over Jeremy Skinner, Jonnatas Gracie, and Elijah Dorsey to claim silver in the talent-laden 77kg division.
Both athletes tend to do their best work from the top position, so fans should look forward to plenty of wrestling in this 15-minute affair. And while Dale and Rocha are each skilled guard players, the match will likely be determined by who can score a takedown.
Adele Fornarino vs. Jasmine Rocha
Before that, current ADCC 55kg and absolute champion Adele Fornarino returns to the WNO to battle Miami’s own Jasmine Rocha in a rematch of the pair’s 2024 ADCC clash. Fornarino emerged victorious via armbar finish in that match, but Rocha, with her crafty submission hunting and physical approach to grappling, remains a live underdog.
Fornarino enjoyed a breakout year in 2024 with her double-gold performance at ADCC in addition to impressive WNO victories over Amanda “Tubby” Alequin, Anna Rodrigues, and Sophia Cassella. She’ll come into this contest following a hard-fought, closely contested decision loss to top pound-for-pound grappler Ffion Davies.
Rocha, meanwhile, hasn’t competed since her loss to Fornarino at ADCC. The daughter of main-event athlete Vagner Rocha, Jasmine boasts notable victories over Margot Ciccarelli, Tammi Musumeci, and Alex Enriquez.
Considering her previous victory over Rocha, Fornarino will understandably be favored in this matchup. However, the bout will take place at 135 pounds, much closer to Rocha’s typical competition weight. Given that size difference and the WNO ruleset, which tends to favor physicality and pacing, Rocha could spring the hometown upset.
The rest of the card at WNO 29
Lower on the card, IBJJF no-gi world champion Roberto Jimenez will put his high-paced, back-taking style to the test against dangerous submission hunter Ryan Aitken. Jimenez is not only one of the sport’s most entertaining grapplers, but at just 25 years old, already owns an absurd resume filled with the planet’s top competitors. Aitken is certainly no pushover, though, and his wins over the likes of Chris Wojcik, Pedro Marinho, and Paul Ardila prove that he’s a threat against the best of the best.
Also, longtime veteran Gianni Grippo will square off with rising talent Max Hanson. Grippo, a master technician who seems to be constantly evolving, has spent the past few years focusing exclusively on no-gi. Hanson is a well-rounded grappler and a black belt under Dante Leon, who is undoubtedly motivated to pick up arguably the biggest win of his still-young career.
Also in action will be IBJJF gi and no-gi world champion Roosevelt Sousa, Tom DeBlass black belt Sean Yadimarco, and talented up-and-comer Michael Sainz, among others.
