Mikey Musumeci set to defend ONE Championship belt against Jarred Brooks
ONE MMA World Champ Vs ONE submission grappling World Champ – who will reign victorious?
Mikey Musumeci will be set to defend his ONE flyweight submission grappling champion belt against Jarred Brooks at ONE Fight Night 13 on August 4.
The match will be part of the co-main event with the other co-main match being a Heavyweight bout between the multiple-time World IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu champion and ADCC World Champion Marcus Almeida and the Senegalese wrestling champion Oumar ‘Reug Reug’ Kane.
The main event will be a ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Championship bout between current champion Chingiz Allazov and former Glory Lightweight champion Marat Grigorian.
Jarred Brooks is an all-rounded fighter that recently won the ONE Championship Strawweight MMA title in December 2022, when he beat Joshua Pacio. Brooks racked up three dominant wins before he earned his title belt.
This championship title match is a chance for Brooks to become a dual-sport champion in the ONE promotion.
On the other hand, for Musumeci, this will be his third time defending his ONE Championship world title belt. Musumeci originally won the title against Cleber Sousa and defended it against both IBJJF World Champion Osamah Almarwai and sambo champion Gantumur Bayanduuren.

Musumeci recently quoted to the South China Morning Post that he wanted to fight as much as possible and Brooks decided to call him out.
“You know I’ll go from style to style to style each day, and if I focus maybe like six months, I think I can beat somebody like Mikey Musumeci.”
Both fighters also hold a 4-0 record at ONE Championship so it will be interesting to see who ends up victorious, will Musumeci retain his title for the fourth time, or will Brooks live up to his word and beat the current submission grappling champ?
