Bianca Basilio booked against Nanami Ichikawa at ONE Fight Night 22

Bianca Basilio will make her return to ONE Championship at ONE Fight Night 22 when she squares off with promotional newcomer Nanami Ichikawa.

Accomplished competitor Bianca Basilio is slated for her return to ONE Championship.

On Friday, May 3, at ONE Fight Night 22 in Bangkok, the Brazilian will take on promotional newcomer Nanami Ichikawa in a 132-pound catchweight submission grappling contest.

The 28-year-old Basilio is one of the sport’s top active competitors in both gi and no-gi. She is a 2019 ADCC world champion and a two-time IBJJF gi world champion, most recently taking home gold at the 2023 IBJJF Worlds.

In the past couple of years, she boasts notable victories over the likes of IBJJF world champion Anna Rodrigues, ADCC Trials winner Julia Maele, and IBJJF gi and no-gi world champion Amanda Monteiro.

Basilio’s clash with Ichikawa will mark her third appearance in ONE Championship, having previously scored a quick submission win over Milena Sakumoto and dropping a decision against Tammi Musumeci.

Her opponent, Ichikawa, is relatively unknown on the international competitive scene. Training out of Arete Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Thailand, the Japanese athlete is a black belt in both judo and BJJ.

Understandably, Basilio will be a sizable favorite over Ichikawa. She is the much more accomplished grappler, nearly a decade younger, and has proven herself numerous times at the world-class level.

Currently, the match between Basilio and Ichikawa is slotted for the evening’s opening bout.

How to watch: Bianca Basilio vs. Nanami Ichikawa takes place on Friday, May 3, at ONE Fight Night 22 and will air live on Prime Video (free with Amazon Plus subscription) beginning at 8:00 PM EST.
