Brackets released for ADCC European Trials

View the full brackets for the second ADCC European Trials, slated to take place in Zagreb, Croatia this weekend.

The second ADCC European, Middle East, and African Trials are set to go down this Saturday in Zagreb, Croatia, and the organization has now released brackets for all eight divisions.

The winner of each division – five men and three women – will punch their ticket to the 2024 ADCC World Championships this August in Las Vegas.

View each bracket below.

While each and every division is populated with elite talent, the lighter divisions are packed with notable names.

At 66kg, former ADCC Trials winner Ash Williams, with his relentless guard passing and seemingly impenetrable submission defense, will be a favorite to take the division, but he’ll face plenty of stiff competition. The division also includes Irish standout and ADCC veteran Sam McNally, The B-Team’s Cam Donnelly, former Williams opponent Jack Sear, and leg lock expert Kamil Wilk.

The 77kg division is also stacked with talent. One early favorite is multiple-time ADCC Trials winner Oliver Taza, who came up just short in the finals against Jozef Chen at the first European Trials. Other standouts include former Trials winner and recent IBJJF No-Gi Worlds gold medalist Tommy Langaker, and dangerous leg locker Mateusz Szczecinski

Another interesting division to keep an eye on is the women’s 55kg. Leading the pack will be ADCC veteran Julia Maele, but she’ll have to get past some top athletes if she wants to earn her second Trials gold. Standing in her way will be Ashley Bendle. The Draig athlete has quietly established herself as one of Europe’s top prospects. And on the other side of the bracket will be recent IBJJF Euros champion Margot Ciccarelli, who has shown marked improvement since relocating to Art of Jiu-Jitsu. Finally, fans should watch for divisional dark horse Martina Zola – one of Europe’s rising stars with a well-rounded game.

How to watch: The ADCC European Trials take place on Saturday, February 17, and will air live on FloGrappling (subscription required) beginning at 4:00 AM ET.
