Ffion Davies signs multi-match UK exclusive deal with Polaris
Top pound-for-pound grappler Ffion Davies has signed a multi-match UK exclusive contract with Polaris.
The UK’s top submission grappling promotion, Polaris, has signed Ffion Davies to an exclusive multi-match contract.
Polaris announced the deal on social media.
“We are extremely proud to announce the signing of Ffion Davies to a UK exclusive contract,” said Roy Billington, Polaris’ Head of Athlete Relations. “Watching Ffion develop and grow as an athlete over the years has truly been a pleasure to watch and we hope by working together we can help take her career to the next level.
“At Polaris we are committed to helping European athletes develop their personal brands and reach the highest points in our sport and we hope Ffion and our other signed athletes continue to do amazing things.”
The deal is exclusive only with respect to the UK, meaning that Davies is free to compete outside of the country in other promotions, such as FloGrappling’s Who’s Number One (WNO).
About Ffion Davies
Widely regarded as the sport’s top pound-for-pound female competitor and named Grappling Insider’s 2023 Female Grappler of the Year, Davies is unequivocally the most accomplished European BJJ athlete ever.
The 29-year-old has found ample success competing in both gi and no-gi events. In 2023, she won her second IBJJF gi world title and captured double gold at the IBJJF No-Gi Worlds, making her a four-time no-gi world champion.
In addition to her IBJJF titles, she is the reigning ADCC 60kg world champion and the current WNO flyweight champion.
Davies is a multiple-time Polaris veteran, having made her promotional debut in 2019 with a victory over Gezari Matuda. She most recently competed for the organization in early 2023 at the Polaris 66kg Grand Prix, where she defeated Giovanna Jara before suffering a submission loss to Elisabeth Clay.
Davies is currently riding a 12-match win streak, most recently defeating UFC star Luana Pinheiro at ADXC 2. She is slated to defend her WNO flyweight title against no-gi world champion Amanda “Tubby” Alequin on February 9 at WNO 22.
