PGF signs deal to stream on UFC Fight Pass

The PGF has announced that its Season 6 finale will air live and exclusively on UFC Fight Pass this April from Las Vegas.

Earlier this year, the Professional Grappling Federation (PGF) announced plans to hold a week-long, team-based grappling event in Las Vegas with $100,000 going to the winning team.

Now, the PGF has announced that its Season 6 finale will air live on UFC Fight Pass on Friday, April 26. The regular season leading up to that will air for free on YouTube.

The PGF is backed in part by Five Finger Death Punch lead guitarist Zoltan Bathory. A black belt in both BJJ and judo, he is a proud jiu-jitsu enthusiast and frequent competitor, in addition to heading up one of the most successful heavy metal bands of the past two decades.

Joining Bathory as a part owner of PGF is Heather Gracie, the granddaughter of legendary BJJ figurehead Carlos Gracie.

The four teams competing in Season 6 will be led by four important figures in BJJ: Roger Gracie, Rigan Machado, Eddie Bravo, and Andre Galvao.

Set to go down from April 21-26, the impressive grand prize and involvement of some of the biggest names in the sport marks a massive step forward for the relatively new promotion, which is headed up by BJJ black belt and commentator Brandon Mccaghren.
During that week, the promotion plans to introduce a number of features designed to drive engagement, including an athletic combine, live drafts, daily matches, and a season finale with the week’s top eight grapplers.
