Breaking: 2021 IBJJF Gi World Championships Dates, Location Confirmed

The global COVID-19 pandemic brought much of the world to a halt in 2020, and jiu-jitsu competitions were no different, as the IBJJF was forced to cancel the 2020 World Championships. Now, much to the delight of fans and competitors around the world, the IBJJF has announced the dates and location for the 2021 gi World Championships.

The Worlds will be held on December 9 -12, 2021, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. Registration for the competition is not yet open, but according to the IBJJF, will be soon.

With the announced of the gi Worlds, the IBJJF tournament schedule is nearly back to what it was prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The no-gi Worlds are scheduled for October 7-10, and the Pans are scheduled for Sept. 1-5.

How to watch: The gi World Championships will take place on December 9-12, and will air live on FloGrappling (subscription required).
