Grapplefest 14 Full Line-Up + 3 Title Matches

O’Flanagan will be going up against Couch to keep his U90kg title, but will he manage to keep his reign or will Couch be the new U90kg GF champ?

This weekend on Saturday, December 3rd, one of the biggest professional submission grappling stages in Europe is back – GrappleFest will be returning to Fusion Nightclub in Liverpool, England for its 14th edition.

As usual, the fight cards are absolutely stacked, with a whopping total of 31 superfights, with three of those being incredibly exciting title matches: U65kg title: Nadine Tavares (Fightzone) V Julia Maele (Oxy Gym), U70kg title: Rosa Walsh (Pedigo Submission Fighting) V Gabi Schuck (ZR Team), U90kg title: Jacob Couch (Pedigo Submission Fighting) V Eoghan O’Flanagan (New School BJJ).

O’Flanagan V Couch

ADCC 2022 standout and leg lock master Eoghan O’Flanagan will be defending his under 90kgs title against Pedigo Submission Fighting’s Jacob Couch. O’Flanagan won the title back at Grapplefest 12 when he submitted Jon ‘Thor’ Blank with a triangle choke. However, keeping his title won’t be no easy feat. Couch recently went head to head with the best No-Gi grappler in the business, Gordon Ryan, back in March and although he lost the match, he has been on a fierce win streak since, winning his four most recent fights, and submitting his last opponent Bruno Matias via guillotine choke at Who’s Number One. Couch is also well-versed in the leg lock game, being an all rounder, just like O’Flanagan. This will make for an incredibly exciting title match for sure.

Grapplefest adds in two new belts in the women’s cateogries

Grapplefest has always provided a platform for female atheltes in the sport, and their latest addition to help provide that platform is they have created two new belts in the women’s categories – under 65kgs and under 70kgs divisions. Fighting for the U70kgs title is Couch’s teammate, brown belt, and submission grappling standout Rosa Walsh Vs Gabi Schuck. Schuck is a black belt and veteran competitor who can frequently be seen standing on the podium, but will she take the win against Grapplefest veteran Walsh? Competing for the under 65kg title are two black belts, ADCC European trials winner Julia Maele, who will be challenging Grapplefest veteran (3-0) Nadine Tavares.
The full Grapplefest 14 live event, including all three title-fights, will be available to watch live on December 3rd on FITE TV at 4pm (BST), PPV. Click here for the link.
