B-Team’s Damien Anderson to make Pro MMA debut
Damien Anderson will have his first Professional MMA fight on November 5, 2023.
B-Team Jiu Jitsu member, Anderson, is the Founder of B-Teams first affiliate in New Jersey and is a huge BJJ prospect on the professional scene, however now he looks to take his hand to MMA.
Anderson also trains Muay Thai and had his amateur MMA debut in early 2023 at Fury Fighting Championships 73, in which he won in the first round via TKO, in under two minutes.
Anderson’s MMA persona is under the guise of ‘Demon Hands’ and he is definitely living up to his name. On his MMA debut against Cody Ortiz, he took down Ortiz and relentlessly ground and pounded him, getting the TKO. Meanwhile, back in 2022, he also managed to get the first knockout in Combat Jiu-Jitsu Worlds history against Adrian Madrid.
He announced the news of his upcoming pro fight with an Instagram montage of snipets from his debut amateur fight on Fury FC with the caption, “6 weeks away from my Pro MMA debut. Once I get info on tickets and venue I’ll make a post 💪.”
Anderson then captioned a second post, “This was the last time I cut to 145lbs was a year ago (day of weigh in). I’ll be fighting 145lbs for my next MMA fight, and then it’ll be 135lbs from there.”
His opponent is yet to be revealed.
With an impressive grappling background, Anderson has beaten multiple black belt world champions such as Richard Alarcon, Gabriel Sousa and Estevan Martinez as a purple belt. It will be interesting to see if he tries to go for a submission on his first professional MMA fight, to continue to prove his grappling prowess, or whether he will look to keep up to the reputation of his new MMA nickname…
