Who’s Number One won’t be the only elite grappling happening on Friday, as Fight to Win returns to action with a card headlined by Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa and Tex Johnson. In the co-main event, Amanda “Tubby” Alequin will meet Raquel Canuto in what should be a fun and competitive match. Check out the full Fight to Win 174 line-up, start times, and betting odds below.
Both Barbosa and Johnson are veteran black belt competitors in both the gi and no-gi, but surprisingly, the pair have never met in competition. Barbosa is coming off a solid performance at the 2021 no-gi Pans in which he closed out the absolute division with a teammate. He’ll look to use his explosive and relentless guard passing against the guard and leg locks of Johnson.
A three-time no-gi Pans champion, Tex Johnson is also no stranger to the Fight to Win stage. In his last Fight to Win appearance, he lost by decision to Max Gimenis, but prior to that, he secured a beautiful reverse armbar submission on Arnaldo Maidana.
The co-main event will pit 2016 no-gi world champion Amanda “Tubby” Alequin against 2017 no-gi world champion Raquel Canuto. The match-up is basically even, according to the betting lines, and should be an interesting clash of styles as Canuto’s pressure passing will go right into the fire that is Alequin’s aggressive guard game.
