Full Match: Amanda ‘Tubby’ Alequin Sets Record for Fastest Submission at WNO Championships

The Who’s Number One (WNO) Championships took place on September 25-26, and featured some of the best matches and submissions in jiu-jitsu this year. One of those submissions set the record for the fastest-ever submission in a WNO women’s match; that honor belongs to Amanda “Tubby” Alequin and her 42-second toehold victory over Jessa Khan.

Watch the entire match below.

An elite competitor, Alequin is an IBJJF no-gi world champion and an ADCC trials winner. At the WNO Championships, she lost her first-round match to Tammi Musumeci. Alequin found her stride in the consolation bracket, though, submitting Alex Nguyen in the consolation quarterfinals and then Khan in the semifinals, in the match above. In the match for third place, Alequin again faced Musumeci, losing a hard-fought decision.
