Watch Rodolfo Vieira Win via Arm Triangle at UFC 248

Grappling superstar turned MMA prospect Rodolfo Vieira made short work of dangerous Dagestani Saparbek Safarov in their middleweight clash at UFC 248.

Vieira nailed an early arm triangle choke after being tagged early, busting up his left eye badly. Vieira quickly abandoned his attempts to strike and emphatically took the fight to the ground. From there he flowed through positions, eventually landing in his second arm triangle choke under the UFC banner. Vieira is now undefeated through seven MMA fights; and is overdue for a stiffer test. The sky is truly the limit for the BJJ legend – we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on his next fight.

Here is video of the Rodolfo Vieira finish at UFC 248:

This latest highlight reel submission over Saparbek Safarov brings Vieira’s perfect MMA record to 7-0 with every fight ending with a finish, one knockout and six submissions. This was also his second Arm Triangle finish in as many UFC fights and despite his relatively lower tier opposition, this should force UFC matchmakers to give Vieira a more competitive match up in his next outing.

Considering he’s been competing at Middleweight lately instead of his original home at Light-Heavyweight, there’s a wealth of interesting fights for Vieira to consider in the bottom end of the top 15. The 30 year old, 4 time IBJJF World Champion would match up well against the likes of Anderson Silva, Brad Tavares or Antonio Carlos Junior and a win against any of them could be the start of his path to being a UFC Title contender.
